Tracey
Ruttan lives and works in the Penticton Indian Reserve, in the
Okanagan Valley of south-central British Columbia. Her paintings
extend beyond the purely
representational to capture the inner spiritual glow of her subjects, whether
they're human portraits or nature studies. Her work reminds us that a bond with
the natural world is often an essential aspect of great art.
For the love of her art and to broaden her palette, she seeks out new experiences
through travel and adventure so that she may present the beauty, strength and
diversity of humanity. Her inspiration is illustrated with a sense of history,
in the attempt to preserve endangered cultures with a true understanding and
love of her subjects.
